Jorge Renteria

 

 

 

Jorge Renteria is born in Bilbao (Spain).  After four years at the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra he moved to London to study horn, conducting and early music at the Royal Academy of Music.  He has been Principal horn of the European Union Baroque Orchestra, orchestras of Asturias and Castilla-Leon and also Co-principal of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.  He is currently professor of natural horn at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica del Pais Vasco (MUSIKENE) in San Sebastian, and his freelance career includes the leading period orchestras in Spain (Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla), France (Les Musiciens du Louvre, Les Talens Lyriques, Orchestre des Champs-Elysees), England (The King's Consort, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique), Ireland (Irish Baroque Orchestra), Holland (Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra), Germany (Freiburger Barockorchester, Dresdner Instrumental Consort) and Austria (Wiener Akademie) among others.
